Started installing the ReadyLift 2" SST kit on the truck. Wife asked me to start today instead of Saturday due to the weather being a little warmer Saturday so we could take the kids to the beach (Emerald Coast is the best beaches in the US. I've been up and down both oceans in the US, so I think I'm qualified to say that, lol.). Only got 1 front assembly done due to a late start that included getting all the mud off my truck first. 1 wash wasn't enough, but it was sufficient for getting this install done. Hoping to finish up everything tomorrow. Wife was in the garage repainting the kitchen table and chairs, and approves of the "lift".
Biggest complication of this install was the loaner strut spring compressor from Advance. It can't hack it with these large springs. Both my electric tools and my neighbors air tools struggled to compress the springs. I ended up driving over 30 minutes to the base hobby shop to use their spring compressor (which worked perfectly). Also, the upper ball joint nut supplied by ReadyLift was struggling to thread onto the stud. I ended up measuring the threads and confirmed the OE nuts would work, so I used them instead. None of the threads appeared to be damaged, which made things slightly more frustrating. Other than that, I'm just fumbling my way through this project. I knew it would take me a while, so glad I scheduled a couple days for this. If I don't get the rear done this week I'll get it done next week.
