Hello everyone,

my '21 LT TB is scheduled to arrive Friday and I can't wait. White with 6.2 and leather seats, only 8k on the clock. I've been searching for that combination for months now and I found it on the day I sold my Jeep, so timing couldn't have been better. Long time Chevy fan, still have the same 4th-gen Camaro I got in high school in 2004. I'll have to post a pic of that while I wait on the truck to show up. Ive been a member of LS1tech for 15 years now, so I know how helpful message boards can be. The truck joins the z28 and my CBR1000 as my new daily driver.

My first question is what tool is everyone using to decode VIN's? I'd like to see build dates and such, but can't find anything reliable. Thanks in advance and I am excited to be here!

very nice! I am no where near that level. but now that I have something that tow with, I'm hoping to find a few like minded friends and do a track day but not many options around me.

I haven't had a chance to ride as much recently as I would have liked to. Just got married last year, so I've noticed that free weekends are harder to come by.

I like your taste! I have a 2021 Trail Boss with leather seats and the 6.2. I also recently sold a red 2014 Camaro SS with some black accents lol. You clearly like power, I suggest some cat-back exhaust upgrades along with a cold air intake and a canned tune. That woke up my Trail Boss enough to be faster than stock F-150's with the 3.5 EcoBoost. Sounds good doing it too lol.

Very nice! Red and black Camaros just work.

I’ve been thinking about mods as I’ve lurked on the forums and a CAI seems like a no brainer, so likely that’s first (not counting the catch can setup I ordered.) but for an exhaust, I really want to find something that is very mellow IN the cab. I haven’t had the luxury of riding inside a quiet car in a LONG time and I think I’ll keep that around on the new one.

Tuning is interesting because I have HP tuners already. It WOULD do everything I need, but I see that these ECM’s are locked to tuning and would have to be sent off before I could push changes. I can’t see myself doing that as little as I want to do to it. Mabye a pulsar for if/when I change tire size, but that’s it for now

Yes a catch-can is a must! I love mine from J&L.

The 6.2 loves a good cold air intake. Just about any brand I looked at added at least 15 horsies to the tires, some closer to 20.

For quiter exhaust but still wanting to add a few horsies, maybe just a muffler delete but leave those resonators near the tail pipes in place. The cab is surprisingly quite, I get more noise from my tires at cruising speed than I do my cat-back exhaust with muffler delete.

My canned tune is from Superchips. What's nice about it is that it offers all of the same functionality adjustments as the Pulsar LT, but also allows you to tune for towing, performance, economy, or 87 octane. So you can adjust for tire size as well. But I don't believe it adds as much power as your HP tuner would.

HP tuners is more of a clean slate. It allows for every parameter to change, so you might be able to make more power than canned tunes, but you can also kill something quick. I used it for heads/cam and switching from auto to manual in the Camaro. Powerful but scary.

Also in addition to the normal licensing fee, you have to send your ECM to HP tuners to unlock on these trucks, so ANOTHER $600 fee. I’ll look into superchips though. All I’ve seen is pulsar so far.

Also picked the truck up tonight. I made the right choice, something this size shouldn’t move like this. Wow. I’ll post pics when it’s light outside.

I have a beautiful UPR catch can. That’s also listed in the classifieds if you’re looking for one. I bought a 6.2 as well but ended up giving it to my daughter and I just don’t think she can handle emptying the canister out. Plus she’s in Florida. Let me know if you’re interested

I appreciate the offer!

Believe it or not, I bought a catch can BEFORE I even took delivery. I knew going in the if the engine was ANYTHING like my ls1, it was going to really need one. So I’ve had a JL can in a box in my garage waiting on the truck.

I bet that Camaro scoots!

Oh wow. I think the Superchips tuner is like $750 but that includes the cost to have them unlock your ECM and overnight air-ship it back to you. You just need to pay for shipping to them. I took mine out on a Saturday morning, sent it in with the quickest delivery, and I had it back Tuesday afternoon. And it adds as much as 45 horsepower in the mid range, and peaks at like 18 horsepower. But they emphasize that it adds more than that if you have a cold air intake and exhaust. Those are power gains on a 100% stock 6.2.

Yes those 6.2's are super snappy even stock! That 10-speed transmission is a great pairing.

Do you have a link for the bow tie I love that look?

A few UNartistic phone pics to show I’m not making it up, really did take delivery.

Installed catch can on the second night of ownership, awaiting my s&b CAI to be delivered and Amazon is bringing me some 0w-20 to take care of the first oil change now. Will take care of a real wash when the weather allows. My wife doesn’t understand how excited I am to pull it in the garage and stay up all night claying, correcting and coating the truck soon.

Love this truck and happy to be a part of the community.
