Hello everyone,
I have a late model/post refresh 2022 Trail Boss custom and I had a couple questions that I was hoping y’all could help me figure out.

1. Is it possible to swap the custom grille to the LT grille? It looks like it should be an easy swap but didn’t know if anyone else has tried this and if so were there issues or things I should be aware of?

2. I also have the 20inch wheels and was looking to put the biggest tires on possible without them rubbing. Any size recommendations that would accomplish this?

Thanks!

Ps. Truck tax

Also adding onto this, is it possible to switch the headlights as well as the grille? I have this trail boss and looking for have the LED lights and different grille

I have been told that the custom and LT grills are interchangeable , the guys who did my BDS lift confirmed this to me… I have not tried it myself, just passing on what I was told..

What would I search up to look for places that could do it around me?

Thanks, I’ve looked it up quit a bit myself and I think it will just swap out. Wife may kill me if this doesn’t work but I’m going to give it a shot next month!

Regarding your tire size question. I have a 2023 LT Trailboss and I put 285 60 20 tires on last week. These are essentially a diameter of 33.5". I also put zero offset wheels on at the same time. My tires rub the mud flaps at full turn in reverse only. I am about to install a mudflap delete kit, so maybe that will remedy. Maybe at stock offset it would be different, but mine rub very slightly as mentioned.

I hope you do this. Getting the LEDs would be great. Regarding tire size. Before I added lift kit I ran 35x11.5x20 ridge grapplers

on stock wheel. It rubbed at full lockout. I did the mud flap hack and solved the rubbing. Now I have RL 2.0 lift with 20x9.5” wheels w/ -18 offset and no rubbing.

It’s very simple to do, just 9 pinch pins, a few bolts and remove the hood latch.. I have had my grill off several times adding lights and things.. There are great videos on YouTube explaining the procedure.. Don’t have to be mechanically inclined to do this yourself.. Just take your time.. If you lived closer I would do the swap for you in under 30 minutes..

The mud flap delete will solve your problem.. I deleted mine front and rear.

How did you handle taking the part of the body panel off to get to the 3 bottom screws. Looks like you could just pop it off if you had the right tool? I’d rather not remove the screws if I don’t have to, but right now it’s looking like I will…

If you have a good YouTube video explaining what to do, please share. I found one and am looking to see if someone else had the same or different approach to removal.

Update: Swap done! They can just be switched out, nothing extra needed!

Is it ok if I give a direct source to who I bought it from? I got the items I needed from two different vendors on EBay, Grill was $650 and the badge for the grill was $59.
