Hi all...
So, I had built/ordered my 2023 TB a while back. ...the day after the site allowed building 2023.
Mine was the first TB order from my dealership.
I think someone in this forum said that when they allocate a 2023 TB to go to my dealership, then they should accept my order at that time.
Did I misunderstand?
Reason I ask: My sales guy at my dealership said they have a 2023 TB on the lot! However, my order has not yet been accepted by Chevy!
I asked my salesman, but his responses are kinda hazy. I don't think he knows much more than I do about how the orders get accepted.
I feel like I'm floating around in the big Trail Boss nebulous cloud of gas! :)
Can someone suggest a website I can go to and learn all the details around this?
I just think that when a person is looking to spend tens of thousands of dollars, things should NOT be mystery.
HELP!

Did your salesman check on the GM order website why it has not been accepted yet? The website will have codes on it. Could be that something you tried to order but GM change and it or is not available. The dealership has to go and change it. GM will not change your order unless the dealership tells them it is okay to change

And that's another thing...
I asked for my Order # before - and my salesman made it sound like I don't have one until Chevy accepts.
I need to ask again.
I certainly hope they're doing right by me.

Frustrating to say the least. Take a look at the 2023 that is on the lot and compare the options between that vehicle and the one your trying to order. Chances are that is where the hold up is. Could be something as simple as the one they have doesnt have assist steps but you ordered a set of assist steps that are on constraint. Or it could be the constraint of the convience package 2 that is also included in the LT Premium package. Sunroofs also seem to be an issue. Also take into consideration is it a Custom or LT and the constraint on the model it self with production numbers being reduced to only 12% of what was orignally targeted. The salesman is correct, you wont get a order number or build date until accepted by gm.
Check out this video and look in the comments section for some of the answers that were given. I know its about 2023 Bolt but ordering process is the same.

when GM accepts your order will get a six-digit code, then you wait for a built date. The more options the longer you wait. I ordered on 5-13-22 fully loaded T.B. Max got accepted in November no built date as of December ,7 2022, gave -up and found one in transit that had everything I wanted but it was a 22 refresh

Yeah, months ago, I ordered a 2022 first. But then learned that they cancelled all 2022 orders.
Then, October 8th I think, I placed my order for the 2023 TB.

For those in the know...
When Chevy has a TB allocation for my dealership, does every little choice that I made on my order have to match the allocated vehicle before Chevy accepts my order?
Reason I ask: I understand that my dealership has already had a 2023 TB on their lot just recently, but apparently my order was not accepted when that 2023 TB allocation initially came up.

I'm happy to re-negotiate things - if they would just let me know that Chevy is willing to do this instead of that - or that instead of this. I can live without (or adjust) some stuff on my order I suppose. But somehow, I need to know that I need to do that don't I?

Your order won’t go through if you selected an option / package that is currently on constraint. Currently there is a constraint for the convenience 2 package for Trail Boss, so if you had that selected your order will be skipped until it becomes available again or the dealer will ask if you want to drop that option so that Chevy will accept it.

Some items that have delayed orders in the past are: sunroof, multi flex tailgate, convenience package, 6.2L engine, etc…

Watch the video I posted in my earlier response. Basically if your first on the list for TrailBoss LT at your dealership and your build is optioned out with packages currently on constraint and 2nd on the list for TrailBoss LT doesn’t have packages or options on constraint, your dealer can move to #2 on their list and place that order because it will be accepted by GM and yours won’t. Talk to the dealer and let him know that your willing to drop packages or options just to get the truck built if that’s what you decide. Then it will be up to that dealer to notify you they were allocated a TrailBoss LT and your going to have to go step by step with the salesman trying different configurations to see what will be accepted. Hopefully they don’t have a big list of TrailBoss LT orders waiting and they are willing to work with you that way. In the meantime, check the Chevy build site daily and if you see something showing in transit to a dealership your willing to travel to, call and see if it’s available. One other thing, seems like a lot of dealerships are no longer taking deposits on available units and are first come first serve, be ready to go if you find one in transit that is available. When you get that call it has arrived on the lot, put it in high gear and get to it.

I just ordered a 23 Trailboss 12/23/22 the only thing on constraint was the S6L Assist Steps. as soon as we took them off hit submit, I got an order number. it said remove to proceed.

Good Luck! I ordered my 2022 LT back in early April and it is still stuck down in Mexico with no ETA whatsoever. I'm about to drive to Oklahoma from IL and go pick one up as it's the only one I've found within 1000 miles with the options I ordered.

Look for "In Transit" found in view inventory after your build. Only way I found mine. Did 4 months of jacking around with dealers. Love the truck. Good luck.

I had to order a 2023 Yukon from a dealer 1000 miles away to avoid a $5K mark up and/or $4K worth of BS dealer add ons no one wants or needs. And I'll get it in 6-9 months. That's absolute crap.
Hopefully in the future we'll be able to order a vehicle from the manufacturer and take delivery at a distribution center (y)

Makes no sense because steps is something that gets installed at the dealership NOT at the factory.
