2024 Trailboss Software Update Recall N242435631

I'm trying to understand the build number info and what this means. 2024 Trailboss just got the recall. I think it went up to android 12? But all the other numbers went down, was this a downgrade or upgrade? Trying to determine if they did it right. Some numbers are diff, down and up, lol. What a convoluted mess

OLD: full_gminfo37_gb-user 10 W206E-Y171.4.2-QIHM22B-824 206 release-keys
NEW: full_gminfo37_gb-user 12 W201E-Y172.6.1-SIHM22B-306.2 201 release-keys

most likely, they DOWN numbers are still an UPGRADE, but just to that program
the previous was a version that altered a different program parameter

Someone explained to me the 10 to 12 is an upgrade, and the other numbers now fall under 12 independently of 10. So then if it's still 12 they should go up? Something like that.

not how it works....if you change a version, you renumber. those SYSTEMS programs may not have had as many revisions, that is indicated by a lower number. the UPDTE release (per say) is on REV. 12, but the sub system (IE...RADIO) has not had as many revisions. that system may only have 6 revs...hence a lower number after the file location.

Well that’s what I initially thought and how most software systems work but the numbers went down. Doesn’t make sense. So they reset after the version 12 went up. Who knows. GM should explain better.

i think you are still missing it...you went from 10 to 12, the sub programs are going to different issues...

these updates are communicating to different data faces, GM may have had 12 updates total...but each is for a specific item
