How do you know this?? What’s trim models??FYI......there is currently a stop sale on certain Silverados with 6.2L. Engines are being replaced even before they hit the lots....
38 Years as a GM Parts Manager. How do you know this?? What’s trim models??
So in your opinion i should wait till after the new year?? Maybe I'll be lucky enough to get one of those newer engines??38 Years as a GM Parts Manager.
You are correct. There have been block issues with the 6.2, similar to Toyota's issues within machining debris being left in the block during assembly. The reason the 6.2's are hard to get right now is because so many of them are being replaced at the moment. The issue has been found and corrective measures have supposedly been implemented, now they are just replacing all of the engines that fell in that time frame.FYI......there is currently a stop sale on certain Silverados with 6.2L. I take it this would include the GMC AT4x with the 6.2.. Also hopefully this will solve the lifter issues too.You are correct. As a consumer, I would give it awhile before purchasing a 6.2, but that's just me.
For me coming out of a ram 5.7 I’ve been told I won’t be happy with the 5.3 … It’s the active exhaust that I like in the 6.2 also ..not looking to go light to light as fast as I can ..Perhaps some further explanation of why the 6.2 engine is more attractive ... ?
The 5.3 in my TB is rated at more than 375 HP. My truck is just about to turn over 50,000 miles without any problems. The Trip 2 odometer, which I don't use, indicates an average fuel mileage of 20.1 MPG over at least 35,000 miles.
Is raging-sports-car acceleration from every light really that important? Or are there loads other than firewood, decorative rock, dirt bikes or 2,100 lbs of garden soil that a mere Custom trim level, 375 HP cannot handle?
I thoroughly enjoy hot rodding my 6.2, as well as spending more for fuel....but the biggest smile on when someone else asks..."is that a 6.2 ? "Perhaps some further explanation of why the 6.2 engine is more attractive ... ?
