Hello everyone! - I have a ‘24 Chevy 1500 LT TrailBoss with the 3L duramax. We do a fair amount of camping in the summer and end up down a lot of gravel roads and some easy off-road trails. I waited till the summer was over before we did anything just to see how the truck was stock. Like most stock vehicles the suspension definitely could use an upgrade. It’s not bad in the city but, big bumps, or washboards on gravel roads and it’s all over the place. Also with the new water based paint, there’s a lot! Of chips around the wheel wells, so we are going to add some fender flares.
Let’s see how it comes together! 🤞🏽

Complete
-Smart Cap
-PPE Zilla intake tube
-Elka 2.0 coilovers and rears

On Order
-RRW RR7H wheels in matte black 0 offset

Wish List
-Husky RVL fender flares
-285/70r17 or, 295/70r17 tires

Welcome and I agree the suspension could be upgraded which I did. I am off road more than on flat ground. I too, put the fender flares on before I picked it up. Make it yours!

i dont recall that shock body material...but if you do need to adjust the height (preload), at least jack it up.
alum. bodies do not like to be adjust under load....Steel is not an issue

Thanks! Yea the lady at the shop told me the same thing. They had another customer who tried to do it and stripped the threads. - happy they told me!! Or I probably would have been in the same boat 😬

I want those Husky wheel liners; however, not listed for a '25...yet. Have written Husky/Real Truck to find out when, and if just in case there is a difference.
Also wonder will they work with rear flaps.
So far, the only really nasty trail I have run is five days of Rattlesnake Trail in Dewey-Humbolt AZ and suspension was not that bad...yes Bilsteins might be a great upgrade,.

i will say this, Shops like Dirtking, Accutune...ect. have the knowledge first hand of the internals. If they are working with a large name to develop a product, it will most likely be a really good hybrid of sorts...

take the piston for example, some use round holes, some use triangular...some use round edges, others do not....if you can study the size, shape and profile of the orifice....you can create a very god reacting piston.

if anyone is looking to replace coil overs...2.0 or 2.5 or larger...Study them

Did receive a very quick turn-around answer from Husky:
"At this time, we do not have the Husky Liners RVL Fender Flares available for the 2025 Chevy Silverado. We truly appreciate your feedback regarding the drop-down menu and your interest in our products.

We’ll share your request and feedback with our engineering team for consideration. While we cannot confirm if or when these fender flares will become available, we recommend checking back with us periodically or exploring other options in the meantime if you need them soon.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.

Best regards,

Are these the 90482?

If so, these are my other consideration since they will give roughly 1" of lift/level on the Trail Boss. The Dirt King does too but they also have a kit that includes their upper control arms as well.

I'm really interested in your reviews of the Elka.

I’m guessing so. I couldn’t find a part number anywhere, on the box or my invoice but the box says 2019-2024 TB/AT4, their website only shows to 19-2022. I ordered them through Krave Automotive in Calgary as most reviews of Elka are good, but their customer service is shit. Figured if there is anything I need Krave is good and they would be able to chat with someone at Elka easier than I can.
Getting them installed Tuesday 😀

Thanks.

If you find the part number I'd be interested. There are two versions that I can find for the Trail Boss. Once is stock height and the other is a 1" lift/level. Did you get the stock height version or the lift/level coil over?

Also, definitely in for first impressions once you get them installed.

Well first impressions of the Elkas are good! - the truck drives alot smoother, doesn’t bounce around anything like it did before. Rolls over bumps and stays smooth, doesn’t jar you, there’s a few big bumps along my way. I’ve had the bilistein 6112 and 5160’s on another truck, they rode a lot firmer, not in a bad way, but it was a lot firmer over bumps.

they came preset from Elka and got an inch in the back and an inch up front, with lots of threads left to increase that. I’m sure it will settle a bit.

I have the duramax and the passenger side has a tray that bolts on to the top studs of the shocks. The Elka studs are smaller and couldn’t get the tray secured on the remaining threads. It sits fairly secure but I’ll figure something out for that another day.

did you have the rear lifted, axle hanging when doing the rear ? a shock typically does not offer lift.
