Anyone tried that tire size before? Id like to put some 0 offset 17 in wheels and I’m not sure if that’ll fit.

This is what I'm looking to do as well. I think it'll be a nice combo. Haven't seen anyone running it tho to see pictures. Maybe someone has...

Its only a 33.8 " tire so its not a real big gain but you also have to be careful with the 17's, not all will fit because of the brake caliper. That is mainly why you dont see many 17's on these trucks.

Most owners who are looking for smaller diameter wheels are doing so for extra sidewall. If that's the case for you, look at 18's and putting 285/75/18 which gives you the same sidewall height as the 17" setup your looking for, but with the addition of increased ground clearance as well.

Appreciate the reply. Reason I'm wanting 17's is that there are more options for C load tires. I want to avoid E load tires which would create a rougher ride.

Is much trimming needed for the 285/75/18 on stock wheels/suspension?

Finally made it happen. 285/75/17 Toyo Open Country AT3 C load, 17x9 MVX Off-road V62 -12. Slight rub on the mudflaps when reversing. Getting the Mcgauhgys mud flap delete should take care of it.

Wow, they look great. What is causing the rub?

Can you tell if a different offset would change that?

Seems like most guys can do the 285/70/18 which are only .1" less diameter, without rubbing.

Thx

285-70-17 = 33.6"
285-70-17 = 34.8"

a zero offset wheel would probably also help...but the -12 isnt hurting much. the MF delete or even a trim of the MF would most likely cure any rub

Thanks. Do you think with a mudflap delete that they'd clear chains in the front??

That's my biggest goal, but of course I'd also like to get a touch more clearance and fill the wheel wells too. So essentially the largest diameter that I can still fit chains.

Thx!

the -12 offset was causing the rub. Since then, I've had 0 offset wheels with 315/70/17 and it did not rub after taking the mudflaps off. Now I am back to 285/75/17 on factory 2024 Colorado ZR2 17" wheels and it doesn't rub either with the positive offset, mudflaps are back on.

i run a 35 x 11.50 on a ZERO offset 9" wide....NO RUBBING
plenty of clearance to an aftermarket control arm

Thanks, that looks great and is a help as I was considering the Icon rebounds in 0 offset, charcoal. I like the contrast of the lighter wheel on dark truck (mine's Cypress Grey). I'm pretty sure the 0 offset will do the trick for clearance of chains to control arm.

How much clearance do you have at the wheel well when turned to closest point of tire to it and is your front lifted/leveled at all?

With the 0 offset, I think this is the main factor to determine the width and diameter I can get away with and have clearance for v bar chains.

I'm towing a small horse trailer and could hit snow during hunting season, so don't want to mess around with just chains on the back if actually want to steer around those windy forest roads.
