I’m looking at getting the rough country 4” lift package and run 35’s. I don’t know much about wheels and am looking for help. I have 20x8.5 with +24 offset and backspacing of 5.69. The kit says I must have 4.5” backspacing for everything to fit right. I’m wondering if the wheels I have would work if I ran 2” wheel spacers so I can save some cash. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

You should have NO problems running 35 with a positive wheel offset, especially with 20 inch tires.. I have the BDS 4 inch lift and run 35 on a -12 inch wheel on 18 inch rims..I’m thinking you can also get away without running any wheel spacers.. I did remove my factory muddflaps though.. Some people have to run a 3/8 spacer to clear the calipers, but my wheels worked without any spacers..

Great set up on your Red Z71. Perfect wheel/tire set up that I am looking for.
What is your wheel offset ? Are they 20" wheels?
Very cool lighted hood protector. Where did you find that?

Thanks

Thanks. They are 20” wheels. I got the hood protector from Amazon. Dumb question but what does the wheel offset mean?

It's 4" over the Trail Boss stock 2" lift for a total of 6" lift. If it has a drop cross member, it's over 4" lift.

Were you able to use the stock upper control arms or buy new ones?
They didn’t mention anything about control arms when I told them what I wanted. I just said I wanted a rough country 4” lift and got lucky it all looked exactly like I pictured it. When you order a lift does it come with control arms?

No definitely not in the base kit. Or in any of the options but just wanted to make sure. They do have upgraded ones you can buy so just wanted to make sure it wasn’t required. I ended up getting the M1 struts and shocks on the options. How does it ride? I also was seeing the 4.5 inch required backspace on the wheels for that lift and had to buy aftermarket ones so I didn’t have to use spacers. The wheel specs kinda threw me off because there is also offset so it was kinda confusing. Discount told me the wheels I got have a 0 offset but a 4.5” backspace so hope everything fits right. My truck is in the shop now and excited to get it back.
