2022 Trail Boss 5.3 V8--- what is everyones thoughts on 4 Inch lift with 37 Inch tires?? probably BDS lift is it to loud -- anyone done one?

I can't respond to the fitment part. BUT, these are very heavy, rigid, long wheelbase trucks. What are you going to do with it? When off roading higher is not always better. You have to find the sweet spot between ground clearance and being high centered or its just plain dangerous. With my stock 32 inch tires and stock (crapy) suspention it is not unusual for me to get tippy and bring a tire up off the ground. If your going to 4wheel a heavy truck sitting that high then I suggest building a good suspension with some articulation. You will need it.

My front end is leveled and I hate the stock tires. At some point I will add 35s and upgrade the suspension. Im not going higher than that.

I have the BDS 4" lift. I put 35x12.50 on 18" wheels- neg.12mm. It still rub at full lock. I need to remove the mud flap bracket. I think all in all, its the perfect lift. I don't do alot of wheeling but clearances have been way better.

Hey, I have this set-up to the letter.
  • '22 TB LT, "short" bed, 5.3L gasser
  • 4" BDS suspension lift w. coilovers, Fox 2.0 reservoirs front & rear.
  • 37x12.50 Geolander MT G003s (I made the jump once the 35s were worn out). Yes they are loud, but not that bad, and IMO this is subjective as to what "loud" is. Like other mud terrains, they do get louder the more they wear; quieter when newer.
  • 17x9, zero offset KMC GRS wheels. I dislike fake/simulated beadlocks as much as the next person but at the time, this wheel w/o the ring weren't in stock. I have to say, that lip ring has actually saved my valve stems a few times against Oregon & Moab's rocks and roots...each wheel has noticeable gashes right where the stem is, so I'm kinda glad I've got them.
  • Don't have too many other goodies, just a superwinch tucked under the factory bumper which I trimmed down, and some wheel-to-wheel sliders (homemade real ones that weld onto the frame, not the bolt-on westin steps that taco on the first short hill you climb over).

Couple Notes:
  1. You're going to have to trim a little bit of the rear inner fender. I replaced the mudflaps with the mcgaughy's trim pieces a long time ago, and they cover any visible cutting. No rub save for a little bit when in 4Low, but I'd always had a little rub in 4Lo when turning sharply.
  2. Since the TB "lift" is pretty basic, especially in the front, I took all that out and did the 4" BDS lift in the front only and left the rear 2" blocks alone. Two reasons for this: more clearance is needed up front and because when levelling a pickup, the levelling kits seldom make the truck literally and optically level. I like my stance to be a touch higher in the front so that the bed rails are square level. I haul stuff in the bed nearly ever day but don't pull trails all too often, maybe 4-5 times a year.

Activity:
  • I run lots of local trails in NW Oregon. Many are maintained by local Jeep clubs and I've done a few of their badge of honor trails.
  • I also hit Moab once a year and run at least one badge trail if it's within reason.
  • Always plenty of issues with a long wheelbase truck compared our short wheelbase friends but you just got to know the feel of things. Most difficult part about putting this into the trails is the width. I'm wary of body damage; I'm ok with some depending on what it is. I've torn those front triangular side pieces by the headlights off a few times, they're so cheap. Couple other dents here & there, just from being too wide at times. Pinstripes, most have been buffed out but a few are deep.

Of course this is gonna throw your mileage off and your MPH off.
Ride height is only gonna go up an inch compared to 35s.
So if you're going up from OEM 32s to 37s, somethings to consider.

Few pics attached. Sorry if the pics are a little warped, taken in tight confines so used the 0.5 zoom phone camera lens so there's probably slightly deceiving depth in some of them.

I would think a gear change to at least 4:10+ would be needed to go 37s too (?)

my 6.2 has no problem turning the 37's ;)

i have always chosen to drive in MANUAL mode, as i have not liked the GM shift schedules since the 6 spd introduction...trans shift schedule is the first thing i go after on all newer gm trans. you would be highly surprised how a simple increase in rpm for each gear changes drivability.
