I have a 2023 LT trail boss with a 6.2 engine. It only has 3500 miles on it when it hasn’t been driven for a couple of days I’ve noticed a metallic ticking noise as the truck warms up. I know the sound of the high pressure fuel pump but this seems like something else. Should I be concerned? All input is appreciated. Thanks..

I'd certainly bring it in to your local Chevy dealership and have them take a look. Couldn't hurt since it is still under the full warranty.

Mine makes similar noises and is apparently normal for these 6.2Ls from what I’ve been told. It’s not as bad as the 5.7L HEMI that I used to have years ago though.

My 2022 (refresh) with the 6.2 makes all kinds of engine noises when it starts up but then they go away. I'm at the point now where I don't care about it unless it is something really obvious. I have an extended warranty so I just drive the shit out of it and treat it like a truck. I've had many GM trucks over the years starting with a 1992 single cab step side Z71 and all ended up being good trucks with very little problems.

its 0-20W synthetic oil, I'm surprised they are as quiet as they are on cold startup.... its the way it is ... I'm on the Baja I'd run 20-50 If I could ....

Sanderson, Have you figured it out yet? I just bought a 2023 RST silerado 2000 miles on it after bring it home a few days later I here a sound, I think it's in the oil pan, do you have any idea what it can be or have you heard the same area sound, tick tick tick when warming up the truck?

1. research the fuel system, the high pressure pump makes noises that sound like lifters ticking
2. research the lifter design, those alone look noisy
3. cooler / cold climates, may want a slightly thicker oil in the winter months

Stormin09 something I noticed this morning, I started the truck lifted the hood listened around, then decided to check my oil, well the oil stick was only had half on the marker, so I decided this is the issue most likely so, got some oil pulled out the stick it's dead nuts full, checked it again its full, maybe this noise is lack of oil at start up like the oil pump is not working correctly, any thoughts about this?
Thank
Jeff
