I was driving down the road (allegedly) over 98 MPH and the truck goes into what felt like neutral…. I then read (which I have never experienced before in any other truck or car! I was confused and concerned and found out the truck has a Governor set for 98mph! Does anyone know how to remove this annoying issue?

The truck in the OP's signature is a refresh, the current Pulsar won't work for him will it?

Not knocking, but serious question. Why does anyone want to go that fast in a truck? I got mine not to go fast, but use it as a truck and have some fun off road. Speed and trucks not built for that seem like disaster waiting to happen. Be safe.

Maybe the 98 cap will help KSP pit my truck if ever stolen lol
I also think 98 is fast enough in an emergency-any faster and I’d probably create another emergency-for myself or someone else

I thought governors were mainly due to tire speed ratings? I wouldn't ever try 140 mph on the stock duratracs.

Pretty sure this is a big part of it. The 98mph rating corresponds to the stock tires im pretty sure. In fact I think the limiter is set to 112 on RST's that come with a different tire.

I did remove mine when I installed the Pulsar. not for any reason in particular, but it's a feature of module, so might as well. I have a liter bike if I wanted to go over 98mph.

It is due to tire speed ratings. I got the 20" wheel option on my truck and it has the governor at 112mph. It's still pulling hard at that speed, I can't imagine having it cut off at only 98! When I'm passing I want to pass fast and get back in my lane and get back down to speed. It's easy to hit 98 if you're trying to pass a semi or 2 vehicles quickly.

Speed Rating Maximum Speed
B Up to 31 mph
C Up to 37 mph
D Up to 40 mph
E Up to 43 mph
F Up to 50 mph
G Up to 56 mph
J Up to 62 mph
K Up to 68 mph
L Up to 75 mph
M Up to 81 mph
N Up to 87 mph
P Up to 93 mph
Q Up to 100 mph
R Up to 106 mph
S Up to 112 mph
T Up to 118 mph
U Up to 124 mph
H Up to 130 mph
V Up to 149 mph
W Up to 168 mph
Y Up to 186 mph
Z 149 mph and over

I’ve also been told the aluminum driveshaft will flex and vibrate after 98 mph.
