My 2022 TrailBoss was stolen in Houston this past Saturday. I will be buying a replacement once the insurance company settles up. Does anyone recommend an aftermarket kill switch, interrupter…. To keep this from happening again on a new truck? What I was told, they can block the key fob lock when you try and lock your truck. They plug into the port under your dash and start the truck without a key. First thing they do is disable On-Star so it will not ping. She’s gone. Pisses me off to no end, can’t have anything nice without someone wanting to steal it from you. 2022, 2” readylift, 285-75-18 ATW3 tires.

I have an air tag in mine for tracking purposes. I know Houston is bad for the F250/350 thefts as they are then used for hook and chain ATM thefts…haven’t heard of many TBs getting stolen though…let us know if you find a kill switch

I picked up one of these for my truck through them on ebay. I didn't use the one time use lock you have to cut off with bolt cutters. I found a padlock that fits so I can unlock it if needed. I also replaced the phillips head screws with a mix of allen and security allen screws. The only real issue is the ecm mounts with double side tape and the tcm has to mount outside the box on top with double side tape, which they don't provide. The box got bend up in shipping so I had to tweak the mounting tab and box so the bolt holes lined up correctly.

I installed a starter kill switch at a local car audio shop and purchased a steering wheel club and a OB2 port cover / lock from Amazon …make them just move on to the next Silverado …takes 5-6 years for many of us to pay truck off and can be taken in under 5 mins ..

We have the same issue in Wisconsin. I rarely use my key fob to lock the truck. Always just press the door handle button and make sure they're closed.

So finally got the monet from insurance coverage and got another TB. 2024 Slate Gray LT. Love the truck. This time around, I had a kill switch called a Ravleco installed. It mounts under the dash and must have the male cap to close the circuit out and start the truck. They install on 4 different points of wiring of your engine. Feel better about leaving the truck in a parking lot now. Look them up, been around for a long time but better than a standard kill switch.

Donut did a video on anti-theft products and that is one they reviewed at the end.

I'm finding all this fun stuff on stolen 2024s, had mine 3 weeks and wheels and tires stolen in Allen, tx. We may have the same truck, I got slate grey LT with the 3.0 diesel. Looking at ravelco and a crocloc, not taking any chances.

WsmittyBBQ, Ravelco did a fantastic job on the install. I picked the truck up on Friday, called them and they had room for me at 7:30am on Saturday due to a cancelation. They came to my house, did the install and walked me through everything. They completed the install in about an hr. If for some reason you do try to start the truck without the male piece, there will be a check engine light, it clears after a few miles and stop and starts. Also, when your truck does start after not having the the male plug in, it will put your truck in limp mode. Just stop and start it again and it will clear it. I do feel much better about leaving the truck in parking lots when I know I won’t be back for a while. My truck is the 5.3 with leather. I couldn’t find the 3.0 in Houston and 100 miles around us. Not many trucks like ours.

Beware of revelco it can be bypassed fairly easily. There’s videos on the ram trx forum of them being stolen within a matter seconds with revelco not putting up a fight.
