I noticed Rough Country has finally come out with an inline calibrator for refresh model trucks. It costs $900 but that's far better than around $3k I've seen to get it done by a programmer. My speedo is off 5-6 mph at 60 and mpg reading has went from 26-28 to 17-18 (3.0l Duramax) after 2" lift/level and 35x12x18 tire upgrade. I'm wondering if anyone has used this product yet and aside from the speedo calibration will it also correct fuel economy? They advertise it will adjust shift points as well (I have noticed some awkward shifting after lift and tire swap) but they don't mention anything about the mpg reading

i am sure, that if it does work for tire size...it corrects all. the shifts are coming form an RPM, which would be off with a tire swap.

I guess that’ll leave a signature in the computer for a tech to find later for warranty issues????

They claim this unit has a "return to factory" option in the event that you need to have service done, you can remove it to avoid warranty issues.

most piggy backs wont leave a FOOTPRINT per say.
couple scenarios....
flash tuners typically reset the key count, that is easy to see and based on mileage, you tell something has been flashed.
performance tuners that flash,
may leave records that certain parameters have been working outside factory calibrations, that is typically a defined search if something fails, not usually seen for general updates and flashes of new software.

It costs big money to modify the stock modules on Global B vehicles. This is MUCH cheaper because all it does is intercept and change signals TO the computers to fool them into believing what we want them to believe. This is how pretty much all the stuff we use on the T1 trucks works - the Range AFM disablers, the Pulsar, the new DFM disabler, the Hypertech/RC inline speedo calibrators...they all just modify signals that the ECM/TCM/BCM look at to make decisions. So as a result, there is no way (digitally) for anyone to know these have been used once they are removed.
