Has anyone tried the Rough Country or AFE exhausts on a 5.3L?

RC is about $500 AFE is $1200.

The RC exhaust will fit the oem exhaust tips, the AFE can be ordered for $7XX to fit the factory tips to save money.

First pics are the RCsecond pics (red truck) are the AFE.

I think the Rough Country kit looks good. I'm planning to get that after I get my new tires and wheels.

For the price you can’t beat RC.. The AFE is definitely a better build system, but for the price difference I would go RC myself.. They also sound very similar..

Had the RC exhaust on and took it off. My 61 year old ears and my wife could not handle the droning at about 2500 rpm’s. Otherwise it sounded good. Kept the black twin tips though because they look way better than the chrome “usb” tips that come stock. That’s just me though.

Just got the Borla... truck for life! :) Couldn't be happier with the sound and quality and don't anticipate needing the 1,000,000 mile warranty.
Agree 100%. That's what I got. Mated up perfect to factory tips or you can get the Borla tips.

I just put the AWE with quad diamond tips on this week. Cold start up is LOUD! My neighbors are not going to be happy at 3am on work days. After it’s warmed a bit it’s much more mellow until I get right foot happy 🤔. I haven’t experienced any drone. Time will tell, but I’m happy with it.

I went the cheap route before thinking about hundreds or more.

AFE Apollo GT Series 3-Inch Muffler Delete Pipe (19-24 5.3L Silverado 1500)

the difference is the muffler design ( RC being a flow master copy, which i think they may own now)...anyway, the Unpacked muffler have a good sound, but will allow the drone. Not to mention, a chambered muffler is proven to show a loss on a dyno. Get a straight through, packed muffler of high quality.

I installed the AWE 0FG on my 2024 5.3L. I think it is the best sounding exhaust. It is pricey but sounds the best. Loud on cold start but no drone when cruising on the highway.

My AFE Vulcan system arrived today. I'll try to get it installed in the next few weeks. I've had enough RC from my Jeep days. Their parts are temporary at best. But I'm tempted to get their color matched sport flares despite my better judgment.
