Backup Camera issue

Recently my 2021 Custom Trail Boss backup camera wasn't the same. Coincidentally it was after I had a tire replaced. Dealer replaced camera and same issue. I'm not seeing my full range of view I was before. Barely see bumper and hitch now. Bottom has a curved black area on both sides. Just curious if anyone else seen this. Think it's a programming issue?

Mine has the same problem. I’m trying to get them to fix it. The dealership said it was normal for some models however it wasn’t that way when I bought it. I’m having other issues as well ( front end noise ,, Tire pressure system gives false readings). Still working with Dealership.

Yeah glad I'm not the only one. Something changed. I drove it for months when I drove it off the lot in may 2021. Then in July it changed angling down. I actually just had it replaced a 2nd time this 2nd time the camera was verified from GM. So seems like they think it's normal, but I know what my view was when I drove it off the lot. Not sure what else can be done when GM thinks it's normal. Guess need more people reporting it. Let me me know if you hear something different or they fix it. I'd like to know. I can tell my dealer what to do or tell GM. To me we are losing all the camera visibility than had before.

Curious what silverado model you have is it the custom or LT?

I wonder if you did the factory reset in the infotainment unit, if it would fix this? My 2021 Custom does not look like that.

My 2022 Custom’s rear camera is the same. I hate it, but it may be just the lower end camera. It’s not a HD camera.

Yeah it didn't use to look like that. Now they do, but some remember what it did look like. That view is taking away the angle and more area to see.

Picked up my 2019 Custom the other day and my camera looks exactly like this? I thought it didn't look right. If anyone has a fix that would be great

Pulled this off another Forum.

They *mostly* fixed this issue a while back with a software update. The reason I say mostly is because it is caused by a user turning on the vehicle and immediately putting the vehicle in reverse. The camera needs time to boot up upon start up and while they did reduce the boot up time, it still is possible to trigger this issue if you super quickly put the vehicle in reverse which is why you only see it every once in a while.
