Bed light mod??

Has anyone ever changed out the cargo/bed lights before? They are already kinda bright but I’m wondering if there’s a brighter led bulb and how to do the replacement??

It's not a bulb, it's a housing unit. There's nothing to replace and I haven't seen any replacements. There are replacement lights for the multi flex tailgate lights. I upgraded mine because OEM lights only have one LED chip. The aftermarket has 8 I think.

Ok thanks, yes, I also did my tailgate, license plate, and reverse lights. I wish I could make my bed/cargo lights brighter.

Anyone mod the lights to get them on switch (turn on from the outside) instead of only coming on when the truck is unlocked if keys are in the ignition and using the switch in the cab?

It would be very convenient to control these lights from the bed when needed.

You have to wire a switch to ground on a momentary switch to the wire on the BCM for the cargo lamp circuit. There's a thread on GM Trucks forum about it.
