First off, thanks for all of your posts. I've been scouring the forum to learn and get to know the Trail Boss better. I've been hemming and hawing on getting a truck for 18 months. Researched every make and model out there but I just kept coming back to the Silverado Trail Boss trim. I just love the all black front fascia and the overall design of the truck. I love that they are mostly sticking with naturally aspirated V8s. The 2022 redesign kind of disappointed me with the way they broke up the all black front... so I started looking into the ZR2. Ultimately I couldn't stomach shelling out $70k+ for a vehicle whether I can afford it or not. Plus I want to be able to do some of my own mods and build ups. Planned my order for a 2022 LTD (I like the new interior and all of the tech but realistically I'll live in Apple Carplay 99% of the time) and was ready to buy. Luckily I checked the used market and found something close to what I was going to order for a decent price, low miles, and just a couple towns over.

Bought a 2020 Trail Boss with the Gideon Atmosphere, leather interior, with just enough creature comforts to make it useful as a family vehicle but still rugged enough to play in the dirt and climb some rocks. I really wanted the Cherry Red Tintcoat (something the ZR2 dropped as an option). First thing I added was a console tray so I could move all of my crap from my old Audi to the Trail Boss. Lasfit LED kit is on its way. A couple of stickers, for the back window, to rep my university and grad school will be here soon.

Next up will be to pull off the 20" wheels and replace with 18" black wheels, also upgrade the rubber. Still deciding if I'll pull off the Sports Bar or leave it and add some HiLights or something. First reaction was I'd pull it off as soon as I got home but it might be growing on me. The side rails are good for now but I'll probably look for some solid high clearance rock rails to put there. I love the growl of a naturally aspirated V8 so I may consider swapping in a Borla or AWE exhaust so I can stand in my driveway and do my best Tim "The Toolman" Taylor impressions.

Haven't had time to get out and explore with it so I just have the pics from the dealership.

What a great choice; Welcome to the Forum!

I honestly can't believe how many mods we have done to ours, and right away after getting it. More than any previous truck we have owned, for certain. Nothing expensive like an exhaust, but altogether 10 percent above the purchase price.

Do you have a mods thread where you e listed it all?

My list for initial inexpensive things:

-LED bulbs for turn signals, reverse, and license plate lights.
-Console tray
-Window tint
-Shorty rubber antenna
-Black or colored letters for tail gate CHEVROLET.
-Black PlastiDip chrome tailgate “Silverado, LT or Custom”.
Probably lots I’m forgetting

I haven't (and probably won't) go for more involved mods like I've done with my Corvette. But the list is right there in my signature. The most involved for my Trail Boss has been the Front Receiver, so that I can use my winch at the front or the rear.

Step rails, Spacers, tonneau, Bed Rug, fender liners, rocker armor, front receiver and a winch.
