Hello,

I just got the Bilstein 6112 coil overs and 5160 as I have heard this greatly improves the ride. I have yet to install them but will be taking it in shortly..

In my head I have been thinking that the 6112 adding an inch to factory lift will require new UCAs so I picked up the Rough Country 29501 UCAs which are for trucks w/ 3-3.5". Is this correct?

Am I missing anything else? I am looking to just level it and gain .5 - 1" of lift so I can get larger tires on there..

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I also added 6112 Bilstein fron coil over Struts. I went with Cognito UCA. I swapped out rear shocks with 5160 Bilstein. You'll notice the ride improvement quality immediately. Very happy with my setup.

Thanks! Hey, we almost have the same truck in NC. That's funny. I'm down by the beach..

I am taking it in Monday - the place I'm taking it to will figure out the details. I asked them to just raise the front 1" and make sure the rear is level. While it is there it is getting some BFG K02 295/70R18. I wanted to try 35x12.5x18 but figured this would be the safer way to go. I almost went with Cognito but found the Rough Country 29501 UCAs in a "warehouse deal" on Amazon for $200 for the set.

I'll report back here w/ what they did.

Small world. I live near beach as well (Southport area).
I still run stock tires, but upgraded to some Fuels Rims. When tires start to wear or get too noisy, I might upgrade to 285/75/18.

I also just had a ceramic coat put on the truck that comes with an 8yr warranty. Let me know if interested, my detailer is awesome and reasonable priced.

Cool, I am in Emerald Isle. My father in law is in Oak Island though! I have a detail guy, he wants $1250 to ceramic coat. It probably isn't as good but I picked up the Turtle Wax 53886 & 53882.. I'll give that a whirl..

Obligatory followup. The Bilstein 6112/5160 upgrade is absolutely amazing. It's honestly the single, best upgrade I've ever done to a Silverado. It blows my mind this is such a huge upgrade over the Ranchos. There is no roll around corners and the bouncy ride is gone. I used Rough County 28501 UCAs, got a warehouse deal on Amazon for $219. I went with my favorite tire, BFG K02. The tires are 295/70r18 and do not rub at all. There is a chance I could've gone up a tire size but I am happy with this tire. It is an entirely different ride. I am really, really happy with it.

What year truck?
So you installed UCAs, shocks and those 295/70 tires and that’s it?
No rubbing with that tire?

2019 custom, seems like yes except he didn’t mention what the shop set the front shock to

Next Friday I'm getting the Fox Coil-over 2.0's and 297/70r18 Toyo R/T Trails installed. I'm not changing out the UCA unless I absolutely need to later. The reasoning, I had a 2020 RST with a 6" Zone Offroad with 35x12.50x20s with the factory UCAs and never had an issue. Maybe I just got lucky too. 🤷‍♂️

Correct, no rubbing at all. I am the top (highest) setting on the front shock.

Yes, shocks, UCAs, tires, done. HUGE upgrade, rides so much better it is "shocking". hah. I am a Jeep guy and modifying things usually makes the ride worse. It's so good, I'm not sure why they didn't leave the factory this way.

Has anyone put the Bilstein B8 5100 shocks on the front instead of the 6112 coil over kit ? Just curious if this would make much difference in the handling and ride quality as this would be a far cheaper route to go and I could easily do this myself. The factory setup is definitely a rough ride, when I test drove mine I asked the salesman if it was supposed to ride this rough! Also, for those that have had the coil over kits installed, how much was the labor for something like this?

The rear shocks are an easy swap out but the fronts take a bit more time, effort and spring compressors. Front end alignment is recommended too.

Glad to hear you're loving it! I've heard this set up can ride chattery or worse on bad roads. What kind of roads do you normally drive/what has been your experience on other surface types. Considering the same set up. Thanks!
