I'm looking at a 2020 Boss 5.3 with a 6 speed.
I see they have 8 and 10 speeds also.
What's your gas milage guys with different engine/trans set ups.
4 cyl, v6,5.3 and 6.2

Depending on where you live, diesel can be about 35% more expensive so that takes away some of the excitement for me.
I still wish I had one though 😎

Best I ever got in my 6.2/10 spd was right at 21 on a long highway trip. Overall average for 21k miles was around 17mpg.

When I bought my tuner for my 6.2 from Superchips, they had different dyno charts for the different setups. 5.3 with the 6-speed, 8-speed, and 10-speed. And of course the 6.2 which is strictly the 10-speed. But interestingly, the 5.3 with the 10-speed was putting more power to the ground than the other transmissions. And if you were able to compare window stickers, you will see that the 5.3 with the 10-speed also has better gas mileage. I would explore that option if you have the chance. But you won't be disappointed with the 6-speed either!

The 5.3 and 6-speed are working great for me. At elevations above 5,000 ft MSL, I get 18-19 around town, and 20-23 on the freeway. Best I ever got was 25 mpg going across Northern Arizona. More than enough HP to pull a big F-150 up steep inclines in deep snow.

Are you saying the 5.3 10spd had higher dyno numbers than the 6.2 10spd? Or the 5.3 10spd had higher numbers than the 5.3 with 8 or 6 spd?

22' w/ 6.2 & 10spd

Average driving, about 21-ish mpg

Highway road trip, hit my PB at 26.3 mpg (between 55-65 mph)

I'm also using 93oct, else 91oct when nothing better is available. I'm WFH, and a tank can last me a month at times.

No, sorry for the confusion. The 6.2 had the most. The 5.3 with the 10-speed had more than the 5.3 with other transmissions.

Reason being......(drum roll please).....a much closer 1:1 engine-trans match for whp/wtq readings.

However, most advertise as flywheel hp/tq numbers. Still gotta factor in the parasitic loss.

Good points. But Superchips claims that these are vehicles on dynos, so it's supposedly wheel horsepower. I'm sure the power gains are under perfect scenarios and after 20 runs, you know how that goes with power adding claims lol.
