Can I swap a console for a seat?

Would it be possible to remove the center console in my 2021 TB LT (with leather seats) and add the middle seat with folding console?

Reason being is we are having a fourth child and I’d like the extra seating space if needed.

I’m willing to have a cloth center seat re upholstered with leather/vinyl to match the rest of the interior.

LThen I could sell the center console to make back some money. The console only has some charging ports and lights in it it I have no idea what modules might be hiding underneath it.

I’m assuming then I would just need some trim panels for the lower portion of the dash and center stack to finish everything off as long as the carpet is not cut up under it.

It can definitely be done, I've watched a few guys do it on YouTube. Currently there is a few listings on ebay for the seat you will need. Just make sure you get a center seat with the folding center console that actually has the compartment. Some models don't have a compartment to open. As far as I know, there aren't any modules underneath, just a few wires for your ports. Goodluck with your swap!

Thanks, I watched a bunch of videos this morning and came to the same conclusion. My brother in law has a 2021 GMC Elevation with the good center jump seat with lockable storage. He’s a technician and said it’s an easy swap so we’re actually going to swap with each others trucks.

This is the one thing that pushed me to an LT instead of a Custom. I like the Custom front end look better and there was nothing else in the differences that I really needed the LT. I'd have even grabbed the 6.2L in the Custom if I'd gone that route. But I really wanted the console with an OE install and look. Maybe I could have solved for it in the aftermarket but in the end I liked it in the LT.

In all honesty, I was so excited to have found an all black Custom TB I didn't even notice the console didn't open at the time. It wasn't till like 2 days after I bought it when I noticed and was disappointed. I'll be swapping mine out soon. You never realize how nice that compartment is until it's gone.
