Catalytic Converter Failure

I noticed after the right bank lifter valve repair the truck came back smelling rich.

Check engine code came on about 2 weeks later with an emissions issue.

Dealer said the catalytic converter had failed and was replaced. I'm worried this is an issue with the lifter repair and will repeat itself in a couple of weeks. Truck still smells rich after the catalytic converter replacement.

Anyone else have issues with the cat?

I wonder what GM’s plan for out of warranty lifter/valve claims is??
