Charging the trailer battery while driving

I'm looking for a how-to, preferably from someone who has actually done this.

Have a '22 TB LT and tow a car hauler with a winch in it. To avoid arriving w/ dead winch battery I'd like to charge/maintain it while driving. Lot's of mis-information on the web.
Anyone who has done this one, please chime in....Thx.

Should be able to use the 12V+ and - from the 7 pin trailer wiring to hook to a battery charger.

That could work, but what I'm after is the correct way to charge through the 7-pin trailer connector, which I understand CAN be done...just looking for HOW? Thx.
