I want to replace the ranchos on my 21 TB. I have a RL 2.0 kit already. Trying to decide between the Rough Country 3.5" coilovers, the Blistein 6112 or the Fox 2.0 units. It seems that the R.C. although a great value will decrease the current lift by 1/4" since the RL kit will have to be removed. I actually would like to have another 1/4" added to get the full 4" of lift. I am not clear if the Blisteins or the Fox setups require the RL kit to be removed and is there an additional 1/4" available with the Blistein or Fox setups? Any advice would be appreciated.

i highly suggest watching a video on Coil over differences.

everyone wants to know "how does it ride", there is a great one explaining "HOW" the coils feel between the three mentioned.

the Bilstein's are stiffer, but handle better overall. The Fox are slightly softer, thus allowing more body movement, and better ride. The ranchos are just junk

I have watched some of the comparison videos and understood the difference between the 2 brands. What I am looking for is information on the adjustability of either brand if the RL kit is left intact. Appreciate your info very much.

that would depend on the Coil selected...both offer part numbers for the trail boss (2" up for standard trucks), where as i know FOX offers a LEVELING setup for the TB models and it is spec'd at 3.5" total lift...Thus removing the RL spacers, or at least all but a 1/4" if possible

i have posted the model links in other threads.

I went with Bilstein 6112 coil overs with new Cognito UCA's. Definately feel the difference in my drive.

I just installed the Fox Coil-Over 2.0s and I would assume the RL 2" should work with them. Its just a 2" spacer, right? The Fox kit doesn't have any added height to them. I also do not have a level kit on mine but did increase my tires to 295/70/18 Toyo R/T Trails. Could have ran with 35x11.50 if I wanted to but didn't. Some Bilstein's are adjustable. Shocks Surplus online helped me out with what I was looking for.

I believe in my research Fox was the company that specifically stated aftermarket spacers must be removed.

CERTAIN part number's are spec to have the 2" built in for the TB...others offer the level as well for a total of 3.5.

no other Level kit is needed.

remember...ride quality is far different between...Fox, bilstein, KYB and others...all depends on how they are dampened.
in order of SOFTNESS
Fox, Eibach, Bilstein, KYB, Rancho 9000, Rancho

now, that said...GOOD RIDE AND best control is Bilstein, Eibach, Fox. All of which are far better than stock silverado as well ranchos. the Fox are said to e the SOFTEST, yet refined in body roll, but od allow more than the others...

how do you like the ride? is it worth it/what observations have you noticed? thanks!

It seems to take on rough roads/potholes much better. I haven't had a chance to take it offroad/trails yet. I upgraded the tires at the same time and got away from those Goodyears. (I hate Goodyears, lol!) Hell, the tires alone improved the overall ride quality. It's also not a daily driver either due to having a work truck. My wife's 2022 Tahoe drives like a Cadillac but that's the difference between a SUV and truck.
