I bought a new 2022 LT Trail Boss 6.2L. I have had the muffler and flapper valve cut out and straight pipe welded on. If I bought a CAI, would I need a tune? By the way, flapper valve not needed, does not have AFM in it. I bought the 100k warranty and trying not to void it.

There really is no “tune” available on a new Silverado or any modern vehicle.
The 6.2 has more power than you need🤣

Thanks for the response. Was concerned about less back pressure already and wanting to add better flow to the throttle body that would throw off the maf.

No tune needed for CAI and Exhaust.

If you get the GM CAI, you do need a flash from dealer, as the MAF Sensor is moved and doesn't meter air properly.

After doing new CAI, disconnect battery for a few minutes. It'll cause the PCM to kind of recheck everything and it'll notice the engine breathes a bit easier. So should trim low idle fuel levels from narrow band sensor.

There are a few options for performance....kind of.

2 companies offer OTS (Off The Shelf) tunes, that will net you (at best on 6.2) up to 45hp. That's best case scenario. One of those offers a in line module that bypasses governor and let's you adjust throttle (ignores PCM protections from too much torque at launch).

There are a few other things you can do;
-Underdrive Crank Pulley
-91mm ported throttle body
-Shorty or Long Tube headers
-Ram Air Intake

Pick your poison.
