Hey ya'll,

My truck locked it self automatically yesterday. The keys were in the truck. It's happened a few times and luckily I had my phone with me and could unlock it with the app.

I saw a video about a setting called "Passive Door Lock", but I don't have that setting on my display.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated to not have this happen again.

Chris

For vehicles with Keyless Access, Passive Door locking can be enabled in the Settings menu of Chevy MyLink, Buick-GMC-Opel IntelliLink, or Cadillac CUE. Simply go to Settings > Vehicle > Remote Lock, Unlock, Start. From here, enable Passive Door Lock.

Excerpt from this article. Check again and try to disable. Bottom of article mentions other electronics may interfere with trucks ability to detect and key fob and lock doors anyway?

Thats the issue, I don’t have the Passive Door Look in my settings. I just tested it by walking away with my key in my hand and nothing happen. Didn't lock.

I connected to my home WIFI and looked for an update, thinking maybe I need an update for that setting, but no it said no updates. Hmmmmmmm...

Passive door lock should not lock the doors with the keys inside.

I have passive door lock, and the truck will chirp 3 times and will not lock if the fob is left in the truck.

What year/trim level is your truck? Do you have push button start?

It’s a 2019 Custom. Not push button, it’s a key. Does have remote start on the remote.

That’s why I’m confused that it’s locking itself.

A few questions:

Did you hear the doors lock?

Any chance you accidentally hit the lock button?

Any chance you pushed down on the lock knob/post on top of the inside door panel while getting out of the truck?

Someone else close by with another fob for your truck?

I’ve questioned all of these things.

This week it happened twice. One time at the store. So maybe someone with a matching key fob?

But yesterday it happened at my house while getting something out of the back seat. Opened the door, leaned it to grab something, and CLUNK. All the doors locked for no reason.

Strange huh?

That is very odd. I think you might have to take it to the dealer, I read one or two threads that were similar on the Silverado/Sierra forums, and I believe a module had to be replaced.

Ok. Thanks. That's what I was thinking. Just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue. I use my truck on the farm and live in a tiny town, I don't want to have to take my key with me everywhere.
