Driving with 35s and the 5.3

Hey Guys!

Thinking of switching from my 275/65/20 tires to nitto 35x11.50x20 tires.

For those of you guys with 35s and the 5.3, is it a complete turd to drive and sluggish or is it still fairly decent?

Not looking to win any races but would like to ensure that my truck will still have plenty of passing power.

I switched from stock to 315/70/17's in June. I really didn't notice any difference in acceleration...it's still way too fast for a truck.

Tip - don't get uber-heavy tires and that will help your cause. Stick with C or D load range. Also, make sure you get some form of speedo correction or your transmission will act very confused.

I put 35x11.50x20 NItto Recon Grapplers on my 24 5.3L. I only had 600 miles on it when I did so not sure if it is sluggish or not. I think the 5.3 is under powered. Also, if you have a 22 refresh or newer, there is no way to recalibrate the speedo at the moment. I definitely like the look of the truck. I also installed the Readylift SST. Gas mileage will suffer.
