**Sorry for the double post mods! I couldn’t figure out how to move my thread from the 5.3 engine section to the tire section since it’s more so about tire size

Hey Guys!

Thinking of switching from my 275/65/20 tires to nitto 35x11.50x20 tires.

For those of you guys with 35s and the 5.3, is it a complete turd to drive and sluggish or is it still fairly decent?

Not looking to win any races but would like to ensure that my truck will still have plenty of passing power.
Thanks in advance

Not sluggish at all and I've got the older 6L80 transmission. I've never towed with it, other than pulling other trucks with a tow strap short distances. Rolls over bumps SO much better around town and on the trail. Speedo is 2 mph off at 70 mph.

Thanks for the info, good to know. I’m already 3 off with just 34s. (275/65/20) I’ll be about 5 off in the speedometer I’m thinking

Speed correct it. As far as sluggish, I can do burnouts on asphalt all day long with new ridgelines 35". That's without the ZL1 LT4 installed yet for improved gas milage.

Ridge grapplers? And I wish I could correct the speedometer, nothing out for refresh trucks unfortunately

I run fhe pulsar lt which helps with the 35" tires and 5.3L. I programed the new tire size which corrected the speed and also helps the transmission. I also bumped up the throttle response. It drives just like it was with stock tires. If I want something fast I just drive our 23 Tahoe Z71 with the 6.2L!!

Nice! Thanks for the info, patiently waiting for the pulsar to support the refresh trucks!

Thanks for the feedback! Have you towed with the 35s? If so, how is it?

And are yours true 35s?

No and no. Mine are 315/70r71 and measure 34.25".

One thing I will note though - before I got the speedo translator box, the transmission did act a bit weird. This is one of the many reasons I avoided the refresh truck...no way to fix issues like that.

35’s are just fine of course in comparison to the stock 32’s there is a loss of power and braking loss was noticeable… but no regrets just get them … I still have strong acceleration…
