When my TB is parked (not running) in the garage, if I open the door I hear a momentary electric motor sound that's possibly coming from the bed area. Fuel pump pressurizing? Just wondering - never heard this sound from any other vehicle I've owned when opening the door, but our vehicles prior to buying the TB were 2002 and 2012.

Yup, systems starting up. Also, minutes after you shut of your truck, you'll here clicking from under the dash. The manual mentions it, but didn't say it sounds like the Transformer locking and loading.

Thanks guys for weighing-in on the possible fuel pump pressurizing the system. At 68 years old, this is my entry into modern vehicles! While I welcome the connectivity to my devices, I don't welcome my government shutting down my truck if I don't comply with certain behaviors!

There's no escaping that now. Guess we'd better all behave. 😉

I believe it might be possible to remove the OnStar module; it's not easy though.

The onstar module died in my last car at 4 years old, other than losing the compass I was pretty pleased and had no intention of having it repaired.

My 2024 5.3 LT Trail Boss has the same sounds at those times too...it starts and stops no problems so its all good in my mind.

These newer vehicles need to be looked at more of a computer on wheels than anything. The amount of modules, sensors, solenoids, systems checks etc that go on every time you unlock the truck or even open a door is insane. Used to love working on cars, not anymore since I am not an IT expert or electrician.

I always thought it was the parking brake setting. It sounds the same as when I push the parking brake button. I miss manual parking brakes.

From someone who hasn't owned a keyless vehicle start until now, I look at it this way. In a keyed vehicle, the fuel pump pressurizes at some point after the key was inserted and switched to START. But with keyless systems, I suppose the fuel system needs to be pressurized when the vehicle is interacted with (and the FOB is within range). In our case, the FOBs are kept in the house (likely within range of the vehicle). So, in my case, even though I don't have the fob on me, if I open the truck door in the garage, the fuel pump pressurizes anticipating a vehicle startup. Thoughts?

probably so, there are numerous solenoids taking power as the door is opened and power is engaged. they also down power for several minutes (long seconds) after shut down as well.
