Is it normal for engine temperature to go above 210 degrees (middle) when towing a light pop up camper uphill?

according to y I-Dash monitor...it is normal to hit around 215 ish with no load on warm days,

emission regs are requiring hotter temps to meet standards.

Mine has done this briefly under wide open throttle on the interstate on hot days, and it always quickly comes back down. Can't hurt to check the coolant reservoir by the brake booster though.

Occasionally dipping your toes in the high end of the normal operating range is no big deal... but if you find yourself there on the regular when towing, check on that transmission temp. Hot transmission fluid adds to the total heat saturation of the cooling system and if you are towing hot, you might want to add an external transmission cooler and/or look into a transmission thermostat bypass depending on your climate.
