Hoping to get some insight. GM just rolled their incentives for the new month. A local dealer wants my business and has proposed the following:

MSRP 68,210
2024 LT TB, 3.0 Duramax, Convenience II, Bedliner, Leather, Sunroof, Bose, 20" wheels with Territory MT tire "upgrade"

-$6750 Costco membership pricing discount including new $1k additional member rebate for November.
-$500 Healthcare/first responder GM rebate
-$3750 GM trade-in assistance/rebate.

+$200 dealer documentation fee, set by state legislature.
+$250 estimated title/registration/plate fees

No other fees, surcharges or dealer-installed equipment or add-ons, except sales tax*

This comes down to what my trade is worth, but I assume the trade incentive will help get it over the line, what I want for it. I'll end up paying sales tax on about 1/3 of the new truck purchase price with my trade deducted, or just under $3k.

GM has extended their 0% financing offer from 36 to 48 months on remaining 2024 models. I would consider this versus their cash rebate ($750?) as the lowest interest rate I could get outside of GM is still mid-5's, and that adds up quickly.

So....fair enough deal on the purchase? Or do we think dealers will be offering $10k off in the next year and will barely be able to give the things away?

No way. 70k for a Trailboss, they can keep it. If you're going to spend that much, get the zr2. You can do whatever you want, but I wouldn't pay that much for a TB.

I guess it would depend on how badly you want one... another option is a pre-owned, if you don't have to have a brand new truck.
There are some decent ones out there that are still under the bumper to bumper warranty even.
It all boils down to your needs/wants though... I've never had a new truck and have yet to be disappointed.

Selling price is $61k and change, and that's fairly loaded. Other than potentially additional incentives coming in December, I don't see the price of these things coming down significantly. Incentives aren't the same on the ZR2, and I'd be spending more than 70.

What should these cost, in your opinion?

That's fair. I typically prefer "new" for something I intend to keep for a while, but I could wait for the right configuration to come along in the used market. I see a lot of used trucks out there from places I don't want a truck from (cold climates), or they've got a rap sheet on Carfax, and I don't want anything that's been repaired or bought back by GM, or a lease return (typically minimally maintained). That kicks a lot of used trucks out of the market for me.

I'm looking for folks who have purchased new recently and their experience with negotiations and what's possible. Truck prices are inflated but I really don't see MSRP coming down. What's being negotiated?

2024 lt traillboss, diesel, 4wd, zero miles, 64k OTD

What was the MSRP? Just trying to gauge what percentage off is a typical deal right now. The costco pricing I'm using seems to be equivalent to some of the stronger dealer cash incentives, but nothing is truly jumping out as an amazing deal.

I think that's a great deal with all if the discounts, I say go for it. If you go with used you will be losing most if your warranty. And I like new too, just like a kid getting a new bicycle!
