Sold my 21 a couple years ago and just bought a 24 TB LT 6.2 with 20s in Radiant Red yesterday!
I’m a heavy mods guy so will be posting a lot of picks and asking a lot of questions on here!
Really excited to learn and share. My other project BTW is a 21 BMW M5 Competition which I enjoy modding as well and having fun in.
Initial impressions on drive home (Asheville,NC) from dealer (Champion Chevy in Johnson City, TN. Great folks to work with!): While not quite as peppy as the M5 (lol!), that 6.2 moves this beast pretty well to say the least. In sport mode, the exhaust sounds great for stock. I really like the black hood bump on these. Also, I love the interior, much better than my 21 for sure. The camera system is top notch! It Doesn’t have sunroof like the 21 had, but I don’t really miss it at all. I do wish it had the multi flex tailgate though but not a deal breaker as I’ve never had one anyway. It already has the blackout package, so that’s taken care of, but those chrome exhaust tips gotta go ASAP. As do the undersized tires. My only 2 “complaints.”
Mod Plans:
Blackout exhaust tips
Tinting
Ceramic Coat
OEM style fender flairs
285/65/20 BFG KO2s
Maybe ready lift level with new wheels for above(?)
Tonneau Cover (probably the Bax Revolver Black)
Questions:
What exactly is active exhaust (apparently I have that) and how do I engage it?
I read an older thread on here that someone ran my preferred tires above stock with no level. Did they change the suspension geometry to allow this? I ask because I thought on the 21 I had, they would not clear the factory UCAs. I did end up installing the ready lift level with their UCAs which of course required new offsets to clear those.
I’ve never had a 6.2 before, so any advice on safely hacking anymore performance out of that, like replacing air filters, CAI, etc?
Thanks All,
Rob
