Never thought I'd have so much difficulty spending money at a mechanic. Trying to get my front end alligned and I've already struck out.

1. Regular mechanic; alignment machine is broken.

2. Backup mechanic; his machine will not clamp onto my factory 18" rims.

3. Mechanic recommended by backup mechanic; his machine's software isn't updated to do anything newer than a 2020 Silverado.

What a clusterf***.

Umm, nothing has changed for alignment specs since 2019 on the T1 trucks.

No idea. That's what he told me though.

Ya that is a red flag for sure, true professionals are hard to find. I would take my business elsewhere. Good luck!

Is that my problem? I'm going to a mechanic and not a tire shop?

Mechanic's usually have older equipment since they do multiple things. Tire shops are going to invest in their business and have the latest and greatest. Discount Tire doesn't even do alignments, only tires and wheels. Belle Tire does alignments. You're in Canada and the only chain I know there is Big O tires.

Big O does alignments. Discount Tire is going through the process of installing alignment racks in their shops. The one near me has one now.
