GM not building any more 2022 orders that include 6.2L engines. ...if I understood correctly.
I went in today to switch my 2022 LT Trail Boss order over to a 2022 ZR2. ...as I had just learned about the ZR2 & the ZR2 wasn't much more than my built TB.
Well... Apparently, they're done with 6.2L engines for 2022.
They also told me that in mid-July sometime, people will be able to start building out their 2023 trucks. ...So, I guess that's what I'll be doing & it'll be FOREVER before I get my truck! 😞

They usually close orders at least a month before the end of production of a model year. Probably cramming in 4 bangers to fill out the model year to up the CAFE average.

If you were to suppose...
If they open it up in July to build out a 2023 ZR2 and order... How soon might the truck be built/delivered?

I honestly don't know. I just know it took 5 weeks from the time my order was accepted to the time it was sitting on the dealer's lot. I picked it up on 5/20/21

I was told anywhere from 6-8 month wait to get the new ZR2 I inquired about ordering 2 weeks ago, and he said it could be longer…I said NO thanks and decided to stick 15-20G building my trail boss into a monster… I hope you get better news then I did when I went to order.. I had a 20,000 certified bank check ready to make the deal…

It depends on the dealer and if they have an allocation for a ZR2. Check out this article: LINK

Just to clarify, they are still building 6.2L orders that were in system prior to the 0% constraint on the engine. That means that anyone that had an order already at 3000 or higher will still get their truck. They just weren't accepting any more 6.2L orders after June 1.

I heard the same. But if you already have a 6.2L, that should theoretically help retain your truck's value in the meantime!

I’m waiting to place an order on the 2023 ZR2 Bison Addition.. I plan on keeping my 20 LT TB because I have it built really well… I also heard they were not producing anymore 6.2L engine this year…

GM should quit being sticklers and let the new trucks have the LT1 6.2 engine in the meantime. Forget the L87 6.2. I would consider trading then. Lol!
