So my new 2022 2.7 ho TB has a hard shift into 1st when coming to a stop. I didn’t notice it until today when driving in the city. Is this normal? Truck has 1500 miles on it. It’s more noticeable if the stop is quick.

Does it have the 8 speed transmission?

So unfortunately, the hard shift from 2nd to 1st gear in the 8 speed transmission is a known issue. Supposedly, this is how the transmission works normally. I had an 8 speed Denali which experienced that rough shift as well as other rough and clunky shifts.

It’s wierd because the transmission is super smooth in all other gears, it’s only that 1st gear coming to a rapid stop. The dealer it adjusting my bed cover and is going to check it out while it’s there. Thanks for the info.

Mine still does it and I have 36k mikes on it. I have the 10 speed. I agree that it’s more noticeable when it’s a quick brake from a relatively higher speed 40mph +

I think when they say that it's complete bullshit bc they can't fix it
I'm at 75k on my 19 boss, still happens...more so when accelerating from a full stop, but it happens when slowing down as well sometimes......this 8 speed is a pile of shit...end of story...no fix

My 19 does it at 96k miles and it’s worse not better. I’ve taken it in and they can’t figure it out. Took it to a local shop with good reviews and they tried to sell me a transmission.
