Hi Boys- Was looking at putting on some aftermarket shocks to replace rear shocks on my 22TB LT. Has anyone done this yet and if so which brand did you go with? Did it help with smoothing out the ride. I had FOX shocks on my old work horse 2006 F250 but obviously that was a long time ago. Just looking on some thoughts and input. Appreciate it. Stay safe

Just installed billstein 5100’s in the back. Will do the fronts once my spring compressor comes in. I will say that they definitely make the truck feel like a truck. The rear has less body roll and feels like they say more “planted”. Takes bumps and pot holes much better. Little to no bed hop. Price point was exactly what I expected to pay. A little over $400 for all 4 and ordered them from billstein lifts and came in 2 days.

I agree the bilstein 5100 is a great upgrade. I just did the rear but that made a huge improvement.

There is a section of road I drive daily that the rear would kick out everytime with the ranchos. When it rains or snowing it was scary. The bilsteins fixed that.

Thanks for the replies and input. I was looking at the bilstein shocks and also the Fox. Has anyone heard much about the Fox shocks?

I have Fox shocks. I put them on when I did the BDS lift. I love them as far as how they are both off and on road. Always have had Fox shocks. I don't mess with something that works for me all the time. Can be a bit pricey, but worth it.

I just have the standard factory lift with a level kit running 295/70/18. The rancho shocks seems rough especially on back end so I was think of going with new Fox shocks. Which model did you go with?

I have the Fox 2.0 Series shocks!

I am going to do the same thing. Did you follow the instructions for the rears and lift the bed to mount the reservoirs?

Man all this gets confusing. So I was looking at the fox 2.0. The exact ones you showed. Did your replace all the shocks? I have no added lift, except the factory 2 inch lift and a small 1.75 level. I guess my question is this. I have never replaced shocks on a truck that wasn't lifted like my old Ford that had a 6 inch lift so can I do it on my 22 Trail Boss with not issues.

I had the 6" lift and all shocks installed professionally. I am unsure what they did to install them. I know they did an amazing job. Sorry. I can find out though if needed.

I was just curious. Maybe you could post a picture of how they mounted the reservoirs

That would be great

These do not have the adjustable reservoirs.

New here. I have installed the Fox 2.5 coil overs in front with Dirt king UCA's and 2.5 shocks out back, love the ride. On road very good off road big difference. The instructions have directions on where to locate the reservoir's, everything went on pretty easy just took my time and don't rush thru it. I didn't add any extra lift the coil overs leveled out the front with stock lift in rear.
