Hitch View Camera

Help me clear something up:

I was under the impression that the zoomed in view of the hitch was a standard feature on these trucks. Either I don’t have it or I don’t know how to access it, but it’s strange that every other similar truck I’ve seen has it.

2021 LT here, what am I missing?

My 21 LT has it. When in reverse and the camera is on look at the bottom of the screen. There is 3 boxes to change the view. One is hitch and the other 2 are guideline views.

That’s exactly what I’ve seen in every other truck. I only have the two guidance line options.

I have two camera lenses on the tailgate. One on each side of the open button. One is hitch view. Do you only have one. My LT has the advanced towing pachage, could that be the difference?

Looks like advanced trailering package, which in LT trailboss also requires convenience package 2 which I’ve also attached.

This might not be the only way to get it. Mine does not have hitch view either.

Your sticker looks similar to mine....but, I don't have a bed view camera, do you? Do you have the 2 cameras I mentioned on you tailgate? IDK......

Those are just screenshots from chevys website for packages available for 21 chevys. Bed view comes with trailering camera package. I only have one camera on tailgate. I do not have advanced trailering package and I do not have convenience 2

That might be the OP answer then. I have advanced trailer package and convenience II package.

NO you don't. The one on the right is the hitch light. Turn your cargo lights on and go back there and look. The one on the left is the only camera. There is a standard and HD camera. Customs only have the standard camera. LT's had the HD camera as an option which I believe was part of the surround view camera package.

For what it's worth, I don't find hitch view all it's cracked up to be. I'm ok at backing up trailers. It's not much better at spot on than the magnetic tennis balls on a stick I used to use to keep from killing the spotter telling me where it was.....

I never noticed the second dome was just a light. Looks like a lens. Thanks for the correction.

glad to know I wasn't the only one with some confusion. thanks for all the insight. I was lost because I have the trailer brake controller on the dash, but no hitch view camera. I bought it from CarMax, so it's not like I had a ton of insight as to what it came with.

if anyone knows where I can type in a VIN and decode the packages, let me know.

Scan the barcode on the driver's side door jam and it will show the option codes.

If you don’t have hitch view try this trick that I use. Back up close to the trailer. Then use the tailgate cables to angle your regular back up camera like in the pictures.
