Has anyone installed the hood light strip that seems to be very popular now? I saw a video of one done on a R*m 1500 and really liked it. It was a SilverHolder brand from Amazon and had a funky little sequence at startup that would definitely grab some attention. I would like to try this and mount it to the radiator cover/grill instead of the hood but wondered if there was enough room there to even be able to see it.

It does pop at night better

Not sure if it’s the same one he has but looks like several sellers on eBay and Amazon. Also might check fitment on 22.5+ year model trucks grills.

Looks like it comes standard on Colorado trail boss trim.

i have the light strip...laying on the bench. i cannot bring myself to install it. it looks like cheap screen door molding in the daytime against the black grille.
i have a 23, and MAY attemp to trim out the relief in the plastic trim of the upper grille...the srtip would only be about 24" or so...but would look like it belonged there/

I agree, the strip lights don’t fit seamless like it should. I was referring to the grill badge in my previous post. It’s not really my style but if I were to do something like this I’d try to find something like these grill replacements from sick diesel. They have Chevy versions but not for the 1500s.

One of my buddies has a couple similar on the front of his and we all tease him it looks like a dorm room, if done right they can look cool though.

my plan, is to use a rotary cutting tool and open the center of the upper grille trim circle in yellow. this will allow the strip to be hidden recessed and not seen until lit.

it will take some patience, but i have time and love doing this this way.
