I was curious when I was looking yo build a new trail boss there was the option for HUD to be installed ($1200+ CAD) at the dealership. But I haven’t seen anyone add it or seen it in any new trucks on the lot.

Does anyone know for sure or have experience having it installed after truck was delivered?
I was spoiled with it in my Audi prior to purchasing both my chev trucks (Colorado & Silverado TB this year) and would love to have it added to my Silverado TB if it’s possible…

Appreciate your thoughts/experiences.

Quick scan of some other forums seems like it’s possible, but they were sourcing individual parts; dash pieces, harness, button clusters, possibly new windshields? If it was a dealer installed option during build I’d check with your dealer and see what they say. I, atleast, haven’t seen that mod discussed here.

I've considered the cheapy dash-mounted HUDs that are available on Amazon. None seem to be any good, really. I became accustomed to this feature in my 07 C6, where the factory HUD works very well. It's nice to be able to easily see that I'm pulling more than 1 g lateral in turns at High Plains Raceway, CO.

It's a real pet-peeve of mine when some refer to this sort of device as a "heads up" display. How may heads do they have, each? In airplanes it is easy to understand the term. A pilot is either "head down" looking at instruments like Attitude Display, or he is "head up" looking out the window for airborne traffic.

"Heads Up" is a sports term, or something said in an office setting. Weak minded individuals, who drive other brands of vehicles, can be easily confused.

When I built my 2022 refreshed TB, there was no option for Head-Up Display unless you were building a High Country. I asked the same question a while back and no one responded if this was even possible after taking ownership of the truck. I would love that option if it didn't cost me an arm and a leg.

Why are you talking about something that you obviously have no idea about? The "heads-up display (or HUD for short) IS, originally, a military aviation term that describes a feature that displayed operational and/or tactical information onto a clear screen that sat above the instrument panel. The purpose was to help keep the pilot's 'head up' to maintain tactical awareness while still being about to see important information while maintaining situational awareness/ target acquisition.
A real pet peeve of mine is when some weak minded and confused individuals try to sound like they know what they're talking about, when they're really just talking out of their ass.
Next time you want to chastise people on this forum, try to FACT CHECK YOURSELF before commenting and sounding like a fool.

Says the FOOL that just joins and this is his FIRST post???

I had it on my Corvette and it's currently on my Yukon. I have no use for it. I'm going 75 mph. I'm not a Top Gun Pilot flying upside down taking polaroids of MIGs :ROFLMAO:

Your point being, what, exactly?
My explanation is correct. First post or 5,000th post is irrelevant. If I am a "FOOL" for correcting a person who chose a demeaning tone to misinform all the persons on the site who are using the term HUD; I will sincerely apologize for thinking that some of the folks on this site would actually like to know correct information.
My words were actual carefully chosen and aimed at a single person who that put their ignorance on full display... That didn't need reply from you, only from vesePilot. Get over it.

Not a good look to jump on a forum and your FIRST post is to attack someone who was making an accurate statement, fully understanding what HUD IS and what a knock off one is.
