I have a 2022 siIverado trailboss 6.2L standard bed crew cab. I am contemplating putting in a in-console safe. The one thru Chevy seems like a good deal. Has anyone done this? How does it secure to the truck? Can I still use the console upper organizer tray? Any other thoughts?

I have the Lock Er Down console and rear under seat safe. I can’t speak for the GM unit but the standard console organizers won’t fit in mine.

Locker Down is local to me and they did free install so I can’t speak about the process.

I will try to take some better photos on Saturday including the open under seat unit. I need to get some work stuff out of the back seat.

Multiple long guns will easily fit in it.

I put some battery powered motion activated lights inside so it lights up as soon as you reach in.

I have the console safe in mine 22 Refresh TB. There are two bolts you remove from inside the console. You then put the safe in with the provided bolts. Yes, you can still use the console tray

Here is a link to my previous post with pictures. I went with GM for the functionality and fit. I love having it. The only criticism is the combination lock wheels you spin. They are clunky and hard to spin. You are not going to get in to it in a hurry. I generally keep just one wheel of its mark.

Electronic Lockerdown lock is the way to go. Waiting a few weeks until my next San Antonio trip to pick one up. Have had them in the last 2 GM trucks I’ve had.

I got the Lockerdown lock with the eight digit combination lock. Thought about the electronic one and thought if i need to get a certain gun out of my truck I don't want the battery to be dead and I'm F#$%ED. Sometimes manual is better in my opinion.

I didnt like the scroll wheel on my ‘14. Too much like a bike lock for my taste. And I only use it to store when i cant carry, I dont keep it in there constantly. Battery is a small pull out on the side of the lock, standard watch battery. Think it starts chirping a few days before dead. Pros and cons to each, but they are extremely well built safes.

I went by Locker'Down's retail store in San Antonio last week. I wanted the '22 refresh extreme safe with electronic lock. In person cash discount plus holiday discount got me out the door with the safe installed by them for $420. over $100 in savings!
