I live in Arizona so when the sun hits the chrome pieces of my interior trim it nearly blinds me. I think it might have something to do with the angle they are installed in. Anyways, I was wondering if any of you have a good source for a vendor I can use to delete my interior chrome? I prefer not to use the sticker stuff if I don't have to, I had it in my previous rig and it did the job but started pealing once the AZ heat got to it....

Thanks

Same issue with the occasional blinding. Following to see what people suggest!

Plastic dip 👍

Plasti dip likely won't survive on interior parts, too much wear and contact. Give it a shot, but I'll look terrible as it starts to scratch off.

Yeah, I have the same issue.

Thanks, I believe you have a good point about the plasti dip, Saved me some time and lots of work. Works great on exterior but like you side contact points would just rub off.

So I watched a bunch of YouTube videos and decided I would try Vinyl wrapping my trim pieces. I am not a big fan of the fake wood look in my truck so I decided to get rid of it while was at trying to remove the blinding chrome. I'm not entirely happy with the job I did on my cup holder ring but I am still learning. I will post more pics as I replace all of the trim pieces. I like the carbon fiber look on the high-end vehicles so I went with below...

That looks amazing! I might have to try this.
Thanks, I'm still learning but the key is to overlap a bit, use a heat gun and a good knife. I bought a kit like this, and used rubbing alcohol to pre-clean. This is the video that gave me the idea. The guy goes too fast but there are others out there.

in all honesty, these trucks have enough black in them...but i would still prefer swapping my wood grain to a black burlwood grain and then possibly doing the chrome in a gloss black

Food for thought: The gloss black will still give you the blinding issues. On the upside, it’ll be hotter to the touch too. 😉 Perhaps a matte finish would be best?

Any updates on the vinyl wrapping trim pieces? I'm thinking about doing it
I haven't had any issues with the pieces I wrapped but I found that I don't have the skill to pull off wrapping the more complicated pieces so I found some pieces on Amazon. They are a bit pricey but well worth it as far as I am concerned.
