Just placed an order for the WAMS Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto Module to add to my 2020 TB

All reviews and install videos show it to be a really solid upgrade and relatively easy even for a butterfingers like me. It is a really little thing but I like the idea of getting rid of dangling wires or having them mostly visible on the center console. It also updates navigation, which I really don't use much as I live on CarPlay.

WAMS also has the High Country digital cluster upgrade. It is a really nice look and cleans up the dash a bit. The functional advantage I see is that in Tow mode the battery gauge changes to a trans temp gauge but I don't know much about any other menu option the High Country gets. I may have to put this on my want list as well.

Hopefully the wait for the wireless CarPlay module isn't too long so I can get back to this thread with a report.

Installed. This module added some of the missing trailering features, updates my built-in nav, and of course gives me the wireless CarPlay I wanted.

Removing the old unit was a trick, even with a good pick set to open the locking tabs. The cables going into the module don’t just pop out and it is tight working space. Once I got them all off it was five minutes to hook up the new one and get everything back into place. None of the resources I found online mentioned it but I did find that removing the lower glove box gave me a little bit more space to maneuver and get my light in the space.

This YouTube video was very helpful.

I'm a little confused. my 21 LT does not have built in nav. It runs Google nav off of my Android. Is there something else?

I have the advanced trailer package. When I'm hooked up it gives me totally different screen options. Including one that displays trany temp continiously.

I mostly use Carplay for nav as well. But there is a specific navigation app that Chevrolets have. They run off a card in the center console. Not a feature I'm going to use often but it was a nice surprise when I finished the updates.

It'll be a few weeks before I pickup my trailer again and start playing with the advanced features but the prior module only ran the light check and gave me nothing else. If you have a 2021 this module won't change much for you. But the 2020 had all the same 2021 hardware/programming built-in but for some reason they didn't activate until 2021.
