2025 LT TB just got back from body shop and service center. I bought a new key fob from ebay, I have one working key. Please share with me how to step by step relearn a new fob. I'd rather not take it to the dealer if possible. When my truck was at service they had to dismount and remount my right front tire, now that TPMS doesnt respond. How can I get it to learn. I have a TOPDON bi-directional scanner but it cant read TPMS on this truck for some reason. Any thoughts?

I was under the impression that there was no way to do-it-yourself re-program a fob.

dealer for FOB

hold the TPMS until the horn honks, then adjust PSI at the front driver...the turn signal lights when it signals and then cycle around the truck to each tire

I went through the keyfob thing on one of my Colorados, and it can't be done DIY. But, a locksmith that services remotes will be able to program it; actually they will have to do both remotes if I recall. It is also hit or miss for fobs from ebay. Even though some look the same the transmitter may not be the same frequency. Dealers can also reprogram but may not want to deal with a fob not OEM.

The TPMS sensor - that is weird. I have had wheels off for rotations and brake changes on vehicles without that happening.

I was having problems with my dash. I updated and still had problems. Looked online and found, "if all else fails", disconnect hot battery terminal and let it sit for 15 min. I went in and fell asleep for 1 1/2 hours. Replaced hot terminal and the alarm went off. Double clicked lock button on FOB. It stopped. Went in started it up and watched the dashboard. Took a couple of minutes then got a message to put driver windows down then up. I waited. The dashboard shows tire pressure, but two were blank. Drove it a couple of miles and it all came back on and no more problems. no more problems.

I thought this method stopped working years ago?

I just use one of these to do the relearn

It definitely works on my 22' Refreshed silverado. I use it everytime I rotate my tires. Take the battery out of the tool when not in use, it has a parasitic battery drain 🙄.

my TPM system even honks when i adjust psi without going into learn mode.

if i have an indicator due to a temp drop (i run low PSI for ride quality)...i will make an adjustment, if the truck is running, it i will honk while i make the adjustment

This one worked on my 25 as well. I replaced the tires and wheels from custom offsets with new TPMS sensors and this did the trick for me.

How do I get into learn mode?

the trucks that do allow it, select the TPMS screen...HOLD THE CHECK OR THE SELECTOR SHAFT...
the vehicle will honk and illuminate the driver front turn signal...adjust pressure and the vehicle will jump to the pass front and then cycle around the vehicle as you make adjustments.
