I had a problem with the length of the factory cables for my Winch not being long enough to reach the battery even from the Front of the truck. Out getting other stuff done, I tried a different routing through the Grill. This is perhaps more like what a permanent install would be like.
There is a rubber flap on top of the radiator that moves easily to let the cable through:
And this allows the stock winch wires to reach the negative on the battery.
Also ... I ordered an emergency vehicle Light Bar. Just a cheap one, easy to use magnetic mount and cigar lighter connector.
Recovering Scott's truck, we had at least one vehicle that wanted to get past us on the narrow road. Coming around the bend in the road, it would have been good to have lights.
Cost around $30 on amazon.
