New here, and looking to get into a trail boss. Dealers on Long Island don’t have any to offer. Do you have to build your own on website? Was thinking of getting off Long Island and maybe would do better ?
- Thanks

You definitely have a better chance of finding what you want in an area that sells / has a lot of TBs in stock.
If you’re not in a hurry and are very particular in the options you want, and don’t want, you probably should order one. Probably 4-6 month wait though.
Good luck👍

Yeah was figuring if I went west a bit I’d also do better in pricing and availability. I’m trying to learn about packages and ordering online.. it’s crazy it’s has gotten like this. And the price lol

Just for context in regards to ordering, I put a deposit down over 5 months ago and the order has yet to be submitted due to certain issues.

- Had to wait for 2023 model, as the dealer couldn’t order any more ‘22s at the time (tail end of ‘22 model year)
- 6.2L engine was on constraint for rest of model year (didn’t affect me, but did for others)
- Order banks opened up for ‘23 but Chevy put a constraint on the convenience package
- Dealer is still waiting to place order

Best to find one that is optioned close to what you want unless there is a reason for custom ordering - I get supplier discount which is why I have been patient and don’t need a truck right away. As there is no indication of when current constraints will be lifted and if new ones will begin and cause more delays for options you may want.

Wow good info. TY.
I know getting into anything new these days can be difficult,, curious if other pickup trucks are having same complications. Never had a pickup, so just scratching the surface ,, maybe look into something different, but definitely like these

A friend of mine actually manages a Chevy dealership. I didn't buy my TB through him because he couldn't order a '23 because of the convenience package constraints. He even called his GM contact to see if they would lift in the next few weeks and the answer he got was they are on an indefinite hold. I found a '22 that was on a truck coming to another dealership that fit my specs and didnt have someone waiting in line for it.

You should buy mine it has 3200 on it. Just bought it in June.

GM should have the same constraints Chevy since built at same plants, the wait appear to be less than Ford at this time, as I have 3 friends who ordered their 2022 in January 2022, and none have been built yet, 2 have build dates in November. For the Trail Boss I agree with what has been said above if you can find a 22 in stock or in route buy that if you can find one that fits your needs.. If you are picky about your options and can be very patient order a 2023. I claimed a vehicle from my dealer's 2022 orders at end of June, built on 07/06/22 and have been waiting on delivery since. Delivery date once shipped was 10/8 it made it to Port by 10/8 & delivery updated to 10/22, yesterday delivery updated to 10/29. So expect a good 3-4 month minimum wait unless you find one in stock that you like and is available. Best of luck.
