Mornin', all!
Some accessories recently added. Go Rhino lo-pro rack, Rigid lightbar, M&R auto amber marker bar, RC tow eyes in black......and a little good luck charm. 😊

As a heads up to anyone looking for a rack, this Go Rhino looks great but wind noise is like having both back windows WIDE open! Then after a few days the lightbar was placed in front of it which dialed down the volume but cjanged it to a whistling noise! This noise reduction is a work in progress.

And this amber bar is BRIGHT! Light projecting bright! Having to look for ways to dim it or filter it, as i'm dazzling people with it.
Let me have any suggestions on both these issues!!

The truck looks good 😎

On our work trucks with lumber racks we spiral a rope around the bar above the cab. It disrupts the airflow and majorly reduces the noise. Maybe a couple of fins on the leading edge could help.

Tint or wrap on the lights might help cut the output down a little.

I'd seen that on youtube. it works well then??? won't the position of the light bar on the rack stop that working?

We do it as a spiral and it makes a huge difference. Most car radio antennas have a spiral so maybe there is something to it. I’m not sure exactly what it’s doing to the airflow, maybe the angle makes a vortex 🤷 idk but it works for the lumber racks. Here’s a picture of one of the trucks:

Awesome! appreciate the input, bud. 👌

Report back if the rope things work! I have been eyeballing that rack. But the noise would pose an issue. I feel the howl of tires and whatnot is already putting any noise at capacity.

So far, no joy. Cord i used may be too thin to really make a difference, because it has helped precisely ZERO amount! Will be circling back with larger cord and some kind of clear perspex or black diamond plate to fill that gap behind the lightbar on the wind deflector. That lightbar is kicking out a whistling noise too.........still some work to do. 😒😒😒

Also purchased a tint for the amber bar from Lamin-X. We'll see how well that works on reducing that glare.

Looks awesome when its turned on but can't do so right now without blinding everyone!

What speed(s) are the whistling speeds? Vehicles have an inherent whistling at certain speeds. My TB from around 100mph - 125mph has a bad whistle and then after that its gone. I am guessing the holes on the side of the roof rack could be a lot of whistling fault. Easy test is put "REMOVABLE" tape on the inside and outside on both sides and drive it down the road. A lot of wind dynamics going on up there with your setup. My two cents worth. Just a thought.

I'd put clear perspex on the inside of the rack as some research found that most noise is indeed from "east-west" across the rack.
Didn't work.
The whistling kicks in around 45mph.
In hindsight i wished i'de figured out the loud wind noise just from the rack before adding the whistling lightbar to it. 🤦‍♂️

Light bars are for offroad only. In some states if not all it's illegal to drive on the street with them on
