My 2024 Trail Boss Custom came with a multi flex tailgate, Can you disable the top part so it doesn't hit the hitch and cause damage to the tailgate? I've tried holding the top button for 7 seconds like the manual says until the tail lights blinks, but nothing happens. Am I missing something? Thanks

Everything GM does is more like 10 seconds. There's also an accessory for this. Try searching accessories.chevrolet.com.

that is a crap tatstic looking hitch insert, it needs to be plugged into the wiring circuit for the truck to see it.

I believe it's B&W that offers hitches that have enough clearance that the mid gate won't hit it when installed.
