Hello! Happy to be here, seems like the best place for all things trail boss. I’m in a big pickle here and honestly lost in this issue. I recently purchased a “lift kit” for my stock 21 Chevy trail boss custom 5.3, I bought it off marketplace and all the components are new! The man I bought it from installs lifts for a living and is a highly recommended seller. I have no clue when it comes to suspension, but I trusted the seller. He’s telling me this kit will work with my truck without issue. So I’ll break down what I believe I have here to the best of my ability and will include pictures. It’s a pro comp 4” lift kit (that is usually used in conjunction with stock trailboss front strut) but instead of the strut spacers he included pro comp coilovers that “will work with the truck”, but he said this will replace the factory 2” lift and instead of 2”+4” overall it will be just 4” overall lift. Now this raises a few questions for me, why would you still have to cut/drop and install the drop brackets for the front diff and other pieces of the kit that are normally intended to drop to accommodate a overall 6” lift kit? Now I’ve asked him these questions and he reassured me not to worry and even offered to do all the work to install it in his personal shop. The other question I have is I can’t find anything about procomp making coilovers for these trucks but again he reassures me that they will work, as he changed the tops of them for Chevy? He also included fox rear shocks for it as well and said they will work with the overall 4” lift? I’m sorry for the long write up and any confusion, please let me know if you need more clarification from my end! Did I get scammed or does this all add up? Thank you a ton for any and all help!
