2026 HD2500 Silverado LTZ
This is my second new trailboss this year. The L8T just did not do it for me, to many quirks. Went to a 26 HD2500 LTZ Dmax.

Welcome to the forum. What quirks? Mine seems fine.

We all have our own likes, dislikes and preferences. Hope that Dmax provides some smiles.

3500 HD L8T with 3000lbs in the bed climbing and descending Montana passes like a dream. Diesel brake would make the descent a little dreamier, but solid as equipped.

I’m also curious as to what quirks, and how did the Dmax solve them and compare.

Good luck either way.
Both awesome setups.

Do the brakes on your 3500 feel a bit squishy? If I pump mine once on a stop they firm up. If I pump them a few times when first starting the truck, they will remain firm a few days before I have to do it again. It goes in on Friday to replace the rear camera and I plan to mention it. I just wanted another's opinion also.

I’ve never noticed anything I would regard as squishy or non-responsive. I’m going to pay attention to it now and see if it’s the same. I will say that the brakes on this thing are capable of stopping quite quickly For such a heavy vehicle. Like I said before with 3000 pounds in the bed and two people Plus goodies it stops well. I run 55 front 55 rear most of the time unloaded as air pressure with a full load I’m closer to 80 pounds both sets I run torque lift upper stable loads to preload the Helper springs as well. All around it’s a very stable. Platform at speeds and stopping. I am primarily a right hand lane speed limit driver my speed demon days are over

I think I am sitting at 60 front 64 rear for air pressure. If I pump once or hold to the floor on start up and do it a couple of times, it's a firm pedal and stops amazingly great. Almost like my wife's old mini van. If I dont, it stops like my ZR2 1500 did which isnt nearly as good. Guess I'll be asking the dealer about it.

Good luck. I think you’ll work it out. Congrats on the truck and post a response how it works out. It’s great to hear all the different variables with these things.
