Hello, my name is Michael I’m 57 years old and I live in the North Ga mountains with my Wife. I work for a major hospital in the area as IT Analyst. I recently traded my 2016 RAM 1500 hemi 4x4 for a brand new 2023 sterling grey Chevy Silverado LT TB 4x4 5.3L. I was originally gunning for a black TB, but my old RAM was grey as well and I actually loved that color. Now with the grey and with the blackout add on, it looks sharp. I am learning a lot about the Silverado. My wife was very happy that we got a Chevy cause her father always owned Chevy’s. I’m hoping this will be a good truck to own for a long time. I tend to keep my trucks usually for 10 years. I had to get rid of my RAM due to some mechanical issues that dodge did not want to address till it threw a code. I was coming up on my 100k warrant. So I said to my wife I need to get another truck. Well she said if I did, “do not even look at the RAM’s, it better be a Chevy or a Toyota“. Well I wasn’t about to get a Toyota. Nothing against them just never wanted to own one. Plus I didn’t like the new body style. Chevy has always been an interest but always felt they were way too expensive. And you know what they are. But my wife coaxed me into getting what I want, just not a RAM, lol. So we got it and I can’t stop looking at it. And it has been almost 2 weeks of owning it. I just completed adding running boards and can’t wait to do the next project. Hopefully i will get some good input from this forum. I’m including a pic of my truck.

Welcome and if you owned a dodge in the north they rust out after three years so I'm guessing you will have it a lifetime down there!

Welcome to the group solid move to get into a Chevy lol trucks lookin good so far!
Thank you all for the compliments. Haven't really seen any sterling grey's on the road yet in my neck of the woods. Hope it stays that way for a bit till I get to doing some minor mods. One of my first mods will be the tailpipes. Can't stand anything with chrome. Black would do nice. Wondering if I should do it myself or have them powder coated. Oh and does anyone know where I can get a Front License Plate Bracket for the 2023's, mine didn't come with one.

Yea not a fan of the chrome tips either should be attempting to do mine once it cools off a little. I've seen people go in through the steps on the bumper and some just painting while they are still installed. from what I've seen its a little difficult to get to the bolts. either way theres a few posts about what others have done on here.

I'm one of the people that's replaced the chrome tips for black ones. I went with the ones from GM. The midnight edition Silverados get them in black. To get the part number I built a truck on Chevy's website with the midnight edition package then did an inventory search for dealers near me that had one. At that point I was able to get a VIN and use it to order the black tips.

Install isn't too bad. You do need to remove the plastic step pads in the corner of the rear bumper in order to access one of the bolts. I have big hands (size XXL and XXXL gloves), but was still able to get the job done. A short wrench or slim electric/pneumatic wrench will get the job done easily. I've done a full elimination of chrome on the exterior of my truck. The only chrome that remains is the bowtie outline on the center caps of the wheels and the buttons in the door handles. If you want pointers just ask.

Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to see what you do with your truck.

You bought from your local dealer? That must have "cost a pretty penny" as my Daddy always said. But I am sure they look nice. I'm probably going have to paint myself. After spending what I did on truck which was nuts, my wife is already telling me to pump the brakes on ordering stuff for it. Lol, I am very obsessive when it comes to add-on's. I did the same thing to my last truck. For now it will have to be stickers and Plasti-Dip.
Send pictures of your black chevy tips, I'd like to see how they look on the truck.

I got a good deal, and was able to recover some of that cost by selling the chrome ones
